      Historic Latta Plantation is a circa 1800 cotton plantation and living history farm, located within Latta Plantation Nature Preserve.  Tours of the Latta home are guided, and tours of the grounds are self-guided.

 Upcoming Events 

September 4-5, 2010 (10am-4pm) Revolutionary War Reenactment  Relive the American Revolution as soldiers reenact local battles.  Visitors can tour soldier camps, see living history demonstrations, visit the plantation house, and watch the main battles each day.  On Saturday soldiers will reenact the Battle of Charlotte which originally took place at the corners of Trade and Tryon Street in Charlotte.  On Sunday, soldiers will reenact the Battle of McIntyre Farm which was fought just a few miles from Latta off Beatties Ford Road.  Admission is $7 per person, ages 5 and under free.                                                               Click here for reenactor registration forms.

September 25, 2010 (4-8pm) Bluegrass and BBQ Fundraiser  Support Historic Latta Plantation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) site, as you enjoy live bluegrass music, local bbq, a silent auction, and more!  Children can play in the bounce house, ride ponies, and explore the plantation grounds.  Tickets are $20 per person, ages 5 and under free.                                              Sponsored by:

September 29, 2010 (10am-4pm) Fall Homeschool Day  Living history day set aside for homeschoolers and their families.  Meet Revolutionary War soldiers and learn about colonial Mecklenburg.  Tour the plantation house, outbuildings, and grounds, see history demonstrations, make crafts, and more!  Admission is $5 per person, ages 4 and under free.  No RSVP required!
