Music Workshop for Children

Music Workshop

December 10th, 2016 (10am-2pm)

Open to students ages 8-12

$20.00 per-person

Music is more than a tune or a beat, it’s also art, culture, and history. Learn the history of early popular instruments while you learn to play familiar tunes on a Tin Penny Whistle and Bones, both common instruments used by early Americans. Taught by a colonial music master, you will also see and hear many types of colonial instruments including the jaw harp, harmonica, fife, drums, and many more. Learn how these instruments were made, where and how people used them, and even learn to read simple music, no experience required. Students will also enjoy a personalized visit to behind-the-scenes locations around the plantation.

Pack a lunch and dress appropriately to the weather.

 Rain or shine, non-refundable, $20.00.

Participants receive a Tin Penny Whistle, Bones, and a Music Book to keep
