Sugar  Christmas  Cookies

 

 1  lb   Real Butter
 3  tbl  Milk
 5  cup  All Purpose Flour
 2  cup  Sugar
 2       Eggs  [unbeaten]
 1  tlb  Vanilla
   Pinch Salt
 1  tsp  Baking Soda [dissolved in the milk]
 
 
 

Put all ingredients in a large bowl and mix with hands until a smooth dough is formed.

Make into a ball, dust with flour and chill thoroughly before using.

Break into conveniently sized pieces and roll out as thin as possible.

Cut into shapes.

Dust with colored sugars or granulated sugar and nutmeg.

Bake till light brown in 350° oven about 12 minutes.

Makes 10 to 12 dozen cookies.
