Tunnel of Fudge Cake

Cake:

 13/4 cups margarine or butter, softened
 13/4 cups granulated sugar
 6        Eggs
 2   cup  Powdered sugar
 21/4 cup  All Purpose Flour
 3/4  cup  Cocoa
 2   cup  Walnuts  [chopped, do NOT omit, cake will fail without]
 
 

Glaze:

 3/4 cup Powdered Sugar
 1/4  cup Cocoa

 11/2 to 2 tbl  Milk
 
 

Beat margarine and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.

Add eggs,one at a time, beating after each.  Gradually add powdered sugar.

Stir in the rest of the ingredients by hand -- DO  NOT  use a mixer !

Spoon batter into a greased and floured 12-cup bunt pan.

Bake at 350° for 58 to 62 minutes.

Do not depend on ordinary doneness tests. Go by time.

Cool upright in pan on rack for 1 hour.

In a small bowl, combine glaze ingredients until well blended.

Drizzle over the cooled cake.
