Antique Roses

Rose varieties from the late 18th and early 19th centuries are planted along the edge of the parking lot. These antique roses are much more fragrant than modern hybrid tea roses. They usually have a shorter blooming period but are frequently extremely hardy and disease free. The main problem with the roses at Historic Latta Plantation is that the deer find them a tasty snack!

The rose shown to the right is an alba rose.
