The Latta family has lost a dear friend.  Mrs. Jean Boggs passed away Tuesday, September the 5th.  It is largely due to the tireless efforts of Mrs. Boggs that we here at Historic Latta Plantation are able to do what we love, which is keeping history alive.  She was not only a friend to Latta but to the history community as a whole.  Few have the passion to preserve and share our history as Mrs. Boggs did.  The history community as well as Mecklenburg County owe her a debit of gratitude.  Her legacy here will be passed down for generations just as James Latta’s has been.   The Latta staff sends our deepest condolences to the Boggs family in this time of loss.
