African American History Celebration

A celebration of African American heritage, culture, and music.  This event will provide a unique and exciting take on African American history and customs including an interactive drum circle ran by Drums 4 Life.  You will have the opportunity to learn the history of the famous Buffalo soldiers, listen to timed talks with notable historic figures including Harriet Tubman and Abraham Lincoln.  This event will provide a unique and exciting take on African American history and customs.  

Run-of-Event:

Doors open 10am-4pm

Drums 4 Life African Drum Circle 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm

Harriet Tubman Special Guest Speaker 11:00am, 1:00pm, 3:00pm

Abraham Lincoln Special Guest Speaker and Exhibits 12:00pm, 2:00pm 

Buffalo Soldiers including Calvary and Nurses Station 10:00am-4:00pm

United States Colored Troops Exhibits 10:00am-4:00pm

Latta Home Open House and Self-guided Plantation Tours 10am-4pm (Closed for lunch 12:00-1:00)

Admission:  $9 Adults, $8 Seniors & Students, Children 5 and under are FREE

Even Hours:  10 am to 4 pm Saturday, June 3rd, 2017
